Reading: The Story of Ehud (Judges 3:12~30)
The story of the sun stands still is somewhat of a mystery, if you take it for what it is called. The sun always stands still. It is the earth that rotates around the sun. No matter how we look at the event, it was a miracle from God. The day was
prolonged so that Joshua and the Israelites would celebrate in victory.
During this time of Joshua's life, it was a time of fighting. The Israelites were doing what the LORD commanded them and that command was to take the land away from the people who lived in Canaan. The people who lived in Canaan did not worship God, but worshiped idols.
Remember last time how the Gibeonites had tricked the Israelites into not killing them and how Joshua had made them into their servants? Do you remember what their jobs were when they were punished? That's right! They were to chop wood and draw water all of their lives.
The city that these people had lived in was called Gibeon. It was a very large city, and it had many mighty men of valor or brave men.
